- Sleepy Possum Added April 19, 2023★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I have a feeling this org has sold us, the usual people, to businesses and corporations. Otherwise I cannot understand how all those local noisy aircrafts are allowed to fly above highly populated areas any time of day and night.
I suffer from migraines. Two sleepless nights in a row causes me the strongest pain known on planet Earth. In usual circumstances, I cannot work about half a day each week due to headaches. I need silence around me, but instead I get noise of 50 aircrafts a day, and sometimes a few of them a night. I rarely wake up myself as I have a lot of local aircrafts flying around and waking me up.
Airservices Australia says the business of airports is important. It seems this automatically means that my life, which is affected by the noise of local aircrafts, is not important. This means that my work is not important. This means that my health is not important. That's how I understand the importance of local airports and rules allowing them to make noise 24 hours 7 days a week, including weekends and public holidays.
Airservices Australia says their rules and regulations are in line with other countries. But I lived in other countries. There are areas affected by air noise, and clearly there are areas unaffected. Only in Australia all the metro area is covered by noise so I cannot find a quiet place where I can sleep all night long.
This country has lost its human face. This happens all the time when government organisations favour money and businesses against needs of humans. Funny that in fiction stories robots choose to break a rule when following this rule can harm a human. Airservices Australia chooses to follow the rules when it harms a human.
